Curia by Rail
Curia is on the Linha do Norte, the Portuguese main railway line that connects the two main Portuguese cities, Lisbon and Porto. Over 300 km long, it goes through Santarém, Entroncamento, Pombal, Coimbra & Aveiro. It constitutes the backbone of the Portuguese freight and passenger railway service, running hundreds of each daily.
Curia has its own station just a short walk from the centre of town and is served by 'regional' trains only. Faster national trains stop at Coimbra and Aveiro where you can change for regional services. The station has lift access to both platforms, as well as an excellent local wine shop located in the old ticket office, which is also a pick-up point for the local bicycle hire scheme.
